Why Learn?
There are a lot of reasons why you may want to spend time learning including getting better at reading, writing, spelling, or number skills. You may be getting along fine with your life until you realise that there is something you want to do but don't quite have the skills for. This could be one of a huge range of things including:
  • Feeling more confident
  • Helping children with homework (especially maths!)
  • Budgeting better
  • Starting college
  • Training courses at work
  • Participating in a community group - maybe as a committee member
  • Filling in forms
  • Making use of your local library
  • Getting a job or a promotion at work
  • Gaining independence - maybe getting your own flat
  • Learning how to use a computer
  • Planning a holiday
Does one of the above reasons apply to you? If it does, then you have found a 'Why to learn'. If not, then maybe you have another reason that isn't on the list. Whether your focus is short term or takes into account your longer term goals, your 'Why' is waiting to be found.
